Craving Mediterranean

I'm craving mediterranean food! I live in the Valley but definitely travel outside my 5 mile radius - would love to get some recommendations... P.S. and please don't say the Great Greek... not a big fan

This is a link to one of the first threads I ever started. Maybe my first post ever, I'm not sure.

It's older, but the thread as a whole is still pretty relevant as far as I can tell.

Since then I have been to Sham ... it's okay ... only went once or twice and Zankou has in some eyes gone downhill. I haven't been for a while.

Gaby's in Culver City is my spot at the moment.

Alcazar in Encino is definitely one of the best Lebanese around. Also Italian Middle East Deli (aka Joe's) on Riverside and Fulton for take out.

Skaf's Lebanese Grill on Laurel Canyon and Oxnard in North Hollywood, next to the 7-Eleven. Best. Hummus. EVAR. Get anything on the specials menu.

Marouch is really good - it's in Hollywood. Santa Monica Blvd close to Normandy (I think)

Yes. Marouch is a favorite. Also do a search on the board for Skaf's.

Well, you could go to Alexis Greek in Northridge, Alcazar on Ventura in Encino for Persian, Carousel, Carnival, or that Firehouse place.

You could pick up some yummy mediterranian goodies at the Italian Middle Eastern Deli on Riverside, or Valley Hye Armenian Market on Burbank.
