Romantic Mediterranean in SF

I agree that Meze's isn't that romantic, but, as you stated, better than most in SF besides Kokkari.

I love Meze's on Chestnut. There is also Cafe Troya on Clement, which might not be as romantic (it is a little bigger) but the food is great.

Yeah, Tryoa is fantastic Turkish food...but not too high on romance.

I wouldn't think of Mezes as romantic, but the atmosphere's nicer than any other Middle-Eastern place I can think of other than Kokkari.

Estia on Grant is somewhat similar.

Maykadeh (Persian) in North Beach is nicer than either.

Anybody been to Newroz recently?

I actually found Troya to be romantic: nice lighting, candlelight, exotic food. Plus they have live tango music on Tuesdays, 7-9.
