Late night & seafood in Foster City/San Mateo?

pinogirl14 Feb 13, 2007 06:17 AM

I'll be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in San Mateo and training in Foster City for 2 days, Wed. to Fri. My flight gets into SFO 9 pm. Any good suggstions btween SFO and San Mateo?

For the rest of my trip, I'm interested in seafood, but will consider other options. Nothing off limits - I pretty much eat any cuisine.

The Fish Market in San Mateo (on the border of FC) is a good place to go. It isn't open late, is very good (not exactly GREAT), very basic preparations. Food is definitely fresh--they have a market in front, in the waiting area. Nice view of the lagoon from most of the dining area. Weekends are always busy. This is a large restaurant and has been there for many years.

Upstairs (Top of the Market) is more upscale, white tablecloth service but less seats.

Lure in San Mateo has nice seafood offerings. Dunno if they have late night dining. Much of the peninsula goes to sleep by 11pm.
