The best Italian in North York (if possible)

I am taking an older gentleman out for a business dinner on Thursday. He will be staying at the Novhotel in North York (Sheppard and Yonge) and loves Italian food, although I am open to other selections. Bill should top out at about $150 for two. Any suggestions? Although, I am willing to drive, I would prefer something in the general area.

I'll third Mezza Notte. I have been there a few times for company dinners etc. (there was only 6 of us) and we have always had a very good meal.

I'll second Mezza Notte. Great pizzas and very good pastas.

There is also Paesano's on Willowdale - about a 5 min drive from Novotel.
Both places are family-oriented rather than fancy. It doesn't mean to expect checkered table cloths - but there could be some kids etc.

Also, there is Tony's, just south of Shephard. The new location is relatively new but they've been around about 25 years.

You can't really go wrong with any of those places, I think.

Mezze Notte and Lokshen Alfredo are probably your best bets in the immediate area. One is much louder than the other, though I can't recall which one.

If you don't mind driving a bit further south on Yonge, Sapori has a lovely atmosphere and if Luigi is working the front of the house, it's always a great evening. They also have a truly fantastic amarone list if you ask for it (separate from their regular wine list). If your client is a wine fan, they will show him the wine cellar as well.
