Recommendations for Gainesville area

glen3a Feb 12, 2007 04:20 PM

We'll be going to a graduation ceremony in Gainesville and have never been in that part of Fla. before. We'll be looking for a few restaurants that offer vegetarian, fish, pasta as part of their menu. Quality is important, fancy or pricey not preferred just good food at reasonable prices.

    Here's a link to a recent thread on G'ville: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/367634
You may heve seen it already but if not you may get some ideas from it.

Try Paramount Grill, located downtown. You can find it under Google. Great fresh food, menu changes each day. You will enjoy. Go Gators!!

if you go to Paramount be sure to book in advance - they can sit less than 50 people.

If you want to try a good veggie place that's a little cheaper than Paramount try the Book Lover's Cafe. Might be more of a lunch place, kind of casual.

Several people had recommemded Gyro Plus in Gainesville for Medeteranian food. WOW!!!! The food there was great, and the owner very nice also! I had a stuffed grape leaf sandwich and it was fantastic! Thanks for the heads up.
