West Hollywood Bagel discovery

Finally, after spending a good part of Sunday morning on the net and physically driving to a number of bagel places, we found closer to home a very good bagel......You must not interpret this as a bialys or a Montreal style bagel replacement , but it is pre-boiled and not the typical tasteless white bready excuse for a bagel. The place is called "the blessed king bakery at 109 North Fairfax phone 323-933-3100. (right across from CBS). This is the place I will now patronize until I can find a real Montreal bagel.

  1. Pasquale on San Vicente just west of Hauser has Montreal bagels. Personally, i don't know what the hubub is about - like my bagels fluffy and doughy. But if it's real Montreal bagels you seek, I think they will provide. Be warned...the first 2 times i went there to try them, they were out sold out by 11am or so on the weekend.

There's no such thing as a fluffy doughy bagel. You're eating a dinner roll with a hole in the middle.
