Dessert Party Report
Our 4th annual Valentine's Day Dessert party has now come and gone.
My mother-in-law and I held it on Saturday night from 8:30-11:30 p.m.
I purchased a case and a half of mixed wines, reds, whites, sparkling, and a couple of dessert wines.
I also mixed up 2 pitchers of cocktails. One of Raspberry Cosmos and the other a Mudslide/White Russian style concoction of my own. These were the first things to go.
Now onto the desserts....the main events.
My MIL and I made all the desserts. There were a total of 35 or so couples who RSVPed. So we expected btwn 75-90 people, not all at once as it was an open house.
Ginger Spice cookies
Russian Tea Cakes
Orange Genoise 4 Layer Cake
Missisipi Mud Cake (also 4 layer)
Chocolate Mousse with Ladyfingers
Chocolate Truffle Pie
Fruit and Cheese Platter
the Most amazing Cheesecake with fresh Blueberry topping
Yellow Cake with strawberry cream cheese frosting
Dulce de Leche Pie with Mascarpone and Carmelized apples
Dark Chocolate and Peanut Butter Pie
Florida Lemon Squares
Hazelnut Chocolate Filo Tartlets
My faves were the cheesecake and the chocolate peanut butter pie.
I've enclosed some pics.
There were litterally only crumbs left, much to the chagrin of my co-workers who were expecting leftovers :)
Hmmmm, now what to make for next year....
