Vegetarian in/near Hollywood

TonyC Feb 12, 2007 02:10 PM

for a family Singaporean/Chinese/Candian vegetarian tourists for both lunch AND dinner?

I'm clueless on this. this request is more painful than making me chew hay. I suggested Boule/Jin Pat. for afternoon tea/dessert but beyond that, I'm lost. hey, at least they're not vegan!

M Cafe de Chaya on Melrose at La Brea for a casual lunch.
There's a vegan Thai place also on Melrose near La Brea called Busaba which is supposed to be good.
The Newsroom Cafe on Robertson is good for tourists, ok for lunch or dinner.
Paru's Indian in east Hollywood for vegetarian Indian, but it might be a little too funky -- it's not exactly glamorous L.A.

I'd put in a vote for Chichen Itza on 6th; they're reasonably close to Hollywood, they've got some vegetarian goodies on the menu, it's a pretty space, and I'm guessing it's unlikely that Singapore has too many Yucatecan places. Watch out for the habanero garnish, though....

A number of the Ethiopian restaurants on Fairfax have good vegetarian options. Also Grace/BLD have good things on their menus for vegetarians.

            thanks for the tips all!

Busaba seems to carry a veggie menu as Dharma Garden in Chicago. Should easily go well for the Singaporean palate.
