Boneless Duck Breast
TJ's stopped carrying them about two years ago. Just went to the Super 88 in South Bay where I have gotten them in the past, but all they had were duck legs. Have seen them occasionaly at Whole Food but the price was out of sight. So is there a place in the Boston area that regularly carries boneless duck breast (fresh or frozen) at a reasonable price?
Wilson Farms in Lexington almost always has them. Forget the price, but that's where I usually get it (and at a better price that WF sells them for!).
I've bought them before at Wild Harvest, but you have to call to see if they actually have them in stock. Also, Savenor's carries them - can't remember the price - assume it would be outa sight.
You can get them at the Golden Goose in the North End. They are around $10/lb though. Often the butchers in the N. End (like Abbruzese or Sulmona) have them although sometimes you have to call ahead.
I've seen them frozen at Wild Oats- I'm not sure how consistently available and can't remember price. I'm not sure if that's actually helpful but there you go :-)
Last month I bought two at Henry's in Beverly for $8.99/lb.
When I invited another couple over, I frantically called my Stop and Shop (Gloucester) and they had them!! And when I got there, only $7.99/lb.
