iDine in the East Bay worth a try?

From time to time, the iDine restaurants are pretty good, because they are either (1) new and need the business, or (2) old and need the business, but maybe a bad location. Or sometimes there's a "day of the week" restriction for long-time good places. But too often they are (3) old, not good, and need the business. Although I haven't tried too many of them, here's my take on what is out there, and I'd appreciate hearing what recommendations or must avoids are out there:

Picoso - perfectly ok for lunch, nothing exciting.
Ciao Bella - I suppose if I really need 10 miles to top my account, I'll go.
Khana Peena - The last time I went (on Oxford) was probably the last time I'll ever go.
O'Chame - a weeknight benefit only, and maybe the best place on the list.
Vanessa's Bistro - just left the program. Boo - but hey, that is a good sign for longevity.
Looney's Smokehouse - went once (before they left the program the first time) - it was ok - haven't been back since they rejoined.
Zao Noodle Bar - Went once (when they weren't in the program). Don't think I'll be back.
Pear Street Bistro - I used to go for business lunches in the old 'hood - not bad for lunch.

SF recommendations welcome too.

  1. I believe iDine is the same thing as United Mileage Plus Dining, right?
