A great burger (in Lampasas)

Brad's Burgers in Lampasas serves one of the best burgers I've ever had. Brad grinds his own meat fresh every morning. It's then hand formed into about 1/4 pound patties and grilled to order. They're griddled burgers, crisp and crusty on the outside and juicy on the inside and they're incredibly beefy. The buns are plain white but fresh, the tomatoes fresh, the iceberg lettuce and onion are chopped and the cheese is american. I had a single but wished I'd ordered a double. The downside of the menu is that the fries are frozen.

It's a weird place. It looks like it was cobbled together out of parts from a long dead Sonic and there is no inside seating. It's manned by Brad and one other guy, but they are able to keep pace with the orders. It's on Sixth Street, across 183 from the big HEB and behind and across the street from Sonic.

  1. Thanks, Greg. If you say it's "great," it's worth a detour to try it.

    1. Thanks for the tip, Greg. I'll be sure to go there, next time I'm in that area.

An unrelated story on frozen fries:

      1. Hey, greg
How long has Brad's been there? I have a lease in lamp. and never heard of it. I will be there this weekend and report back. Thank's for the tip.

        1. Good call Greg
Had the dbl chs + jalapeno, good stuff. The catfish dinner is very good as well.

          1. Brad has been serving food to the residents of Lampasas since the sulfur springs were first discovered. His recipe for success is very simple ...more food than you can eat, a fair price, fresh ground beef daily and friendly service. Whatever you do, don't miss the chicken fried steak dinner that's too generous to eat it all. With all this going for him, I don't care if the fries are frozen.
