Beaver brand Sweet Hot Mustard (here in the northwest anyway).
Parkers Farm creamy peanut butter (midwest thing I think).

Maybe they have to be nationwide +/- Canada to be truly iconic... in which case:

DARK CHOCOLATE M&M's. I thought M&M's couldn't be improved upon, but I was mistaken.

I am refraining from nominations because of some company twerp may get wind of this and start changing an already perfected product into slop.

I have have to question the stale Wonder Bread myself, or any of the other brands of stale bread for the matter.

Still to this day, I never understood bread sticking to one's roof of the mouth as being undesirable. Quite frankly I demand that it does!

For me, Wonder bread is the perfect bread for PB&J.

Hellman's Mayonnaise - Can only be improved on by making it yourself.
                      Cheerios
Tropicana orange juice - Can only be imporved on by squeezing your own juice oranges

My cousin and I were dissing tropicana the other day - we were picking up a few small containers of cranberry and orange for my husband to mix drinks and all the grocery store had was tropicana. We made faces and groaned in unison. But there were no other options.

To each their own! I prefer fresh squeezed.

Tropicana Pure Premium is good but not as good as it used to be. I prefer Simply Orange.

I prefer the health food store version of the fig bar - the kind made with whole wheat. Also comes in raspberry and apricot versions.

I am not a fan of the other fruit fillings of fig newtons ....really sweet, really bad. I love the little cruncy seeds of the fig.

The health food newtons are good too but will never fill the shoes of my childhood memories of fig newtons.

With the health food bars, the other flavors tend to have a tartness that adds a nice contrast.

Grey Poupon is just okay. Most of the time it's got no heat.

I just watched one of the taste test at America's Test Kitchen. Apparently Dijon loses its heat over time. So the key is to find one that is most recently produced, and not to keep it in the fridge for too long.
