Lunch in Big Sur: Nepenthe or Big Sur Bakery?

Stop at Nepenthe - look at the view, check out the really cool gift shop - and then head north to the bakery! Drive Safe!

hello, my spouse has eaten at both; BS bakery , no contest, if the food is paramount. Everything we had for lunch was delish, and the vegetarian soup, fresh carrot juice, fruit pancake (baked in a wood fired oven), pizza from same oven(veg.options), all top quality, as was our salad at dinner.Excellent custom roast organic coffee and above avg. wine list, if that is a consideration. Mid-price but excellent value for the quality. Nepenthe is wildly popular for the view, food is passable/good acc. to spouse, expect usual price inflation for places with great views. enjoy
