Meal Delivery in Culver City

redchair Feb 11, 2007 01:33 PM

I have a dear friend who will be undergoing chemotherapy, and I want to have delicious, premade meals delivered to her home for her family. She lives in Culver City, but I am out of the area and do not know what is good. What do the chowfriends recommend?

Do you want more of a catering type service or good takeout? There are some reasonably good restaurants in the area that will do takeout: Xotik Kitchen (it's takeout only, fresh organic dishes), La Dijonaise (American/French food), Giovanni's, Nove Cento(Italian), Honey's Kettle Fried Chicken, Natalee Thai, Victor's Jr does NY style pizzas and sub sandwiches.

For delivery service, I think only Victor's, Natalee Thai and Xotik kitchen will deliver.

      I really like Natalee Thai.

Thai Boom is a great delivery option - very nice folks and always fast.

Kristina's Italian on Overland, north of Palms will also deliver, and they have a good variety of entrees, pastas, and pizza. I prefer it to Victor Jrs.

I have heard of Susan's Healthy Gourmet ... but have never tried them personally ... you may want to take a look at their website ... I work in CC and will get my feelers out for you ... i'll post anything I find for you ... all my best to your friend.

I've always found Clementine's delivery service to be very thoughtful. I've used them for everything from babies to bereavement and they always do a great job. their dinners are premade and simply require heating.

A couple of additional places in CC that deliver: Santa Maria BBQ, and Mrs. Garcia's, which is a kind of fast-foodish Mexican (but much tastier than the chains.) Also, the local grocery chain, Albertson's, has a delivery service, in case you want to send some staples along as well. You're a good person to do this, my best to your friend.
