Going to a movie tonight and need some recommendations for dinner near the Director's Guild on Sunset and Fairfax. We are pretty much up for anything, but so many places are closed on Sunday. Please help!!

Gets mixed reviews here, but Cheebo is close.

Off Vine is a bit further east.

How is Off Vine? What about Chocolat?

The food isn't mindblowing, but it's reasonably priced California/American cuisine, and I like the space and ambience. I had a blackened turkey there I liked, and the dessert souffles are good... Get dessert before, since there ain't no candy allowed at the DGA (one of the reasons I prefer to see movies there, since there are no obnoxious candy wrappers or chomping sounds of buttered popcorn or perenially sticky floors from spilled jumbo sodas!)

Vivoli. Excellent, reasonably priced Italian in a strip mall one bloack west of the DGA. It's small, so make reservations. Trust me; you'll thank me.
