Cafe Brasil? - St. Louis

I'm contemplating this place for a meal later this week and read the review in Sauce. I just happened to be passing by it on Manchester @ McKnight. Anybody have any personal experiences here?

  1. I had dinner there 6 months ago and was not impressed. Service was very bad - seemed to be run by teenagers, and the atmosphere (design) of the place did not match the pricing. I will not be back. The food was passable, but not special. Perhaps it has improved since then?

    1. my experience was similar. good, but extremely overpriced.

There's another Brazilian place, Yemanja Brasil, in I think Soulard that has gotten better reviews from those who'd seem to know (in my world anyway). I've not made it down yet myself.

I don't know if Yemanja Brasil has churrasco, but Cafe Brasil does and George, the owner, does a pretty good job of it. I loved going to Cafe Brasil because it was close and the food I thought was very good. Yes, expensive if you go in the evenings. I usually go for the lunch buffet or the sunday brunch, when they also offer the churrascaria in a limited manner. That is definitely worth it. You might want to try them then.

How expensive in the evenings? The churrasco is what I was looking for and probably in the vevening hours. I didn't realize they were open for lunch. .

I think the dinner is $35. The sunday brunch with churrasco is $20. weekday lunch does not include churrasco.
