V-day dinner---for 3!

Hi all,

My roommate, neighbor, and I are planning to celebrate Single's Awareness Day together. My neighbor wants an excuse to wear his new suit out in public. Any restaurant suggestions? We're completely open to all price ranges and cuisines. We just decided to do this today, so yes, it's VERY last minute. Not sure how successful we'll be.

Any suggestions would be fabulous!

  1. Since you're very open, but didn't specify location, I'd suggest looking on OpenTable and see what's still available!

      Good idea!

Sorry, forgot to mention. We're in LA!

    2. There are still tables at a number of places, depending how flexible you are with times!

      1. Valentines Day is notorious as one of the worst days to eat out. I'd save it for another time. It would be more fun to throw a singles party even last minute. Tell everyone to bring one single friend to introduce around.

        1. I don't know what to suggest but I want to applaud your gesture! I am often alone on V-DAY and wish my solo friends and I had thought of this! YAY!

          1. As a restaurant manager, I implore you not to go out on Valentine's Day. It's an 'amateur night' just like St. Patty's Day and New Year's. The amateurs never learned how to dine at a restaurant, so we have to hold their hands and give extra attention throughout the entire dinner.

Also, many restaurants force you to have their V-Day dinner (vermont, I'm looking at you!). You end up with a $40 meal for the price of $75.

This is why 'coconutz' tells you not to go out that night.

Point well taken. It does make sense though, since SO many people will be dining out that night. Thanks for the tip! Perhaps we'll think about rescheduling. Besides, it'll be fun to get all dressed up and go out, just for the sake of going out without any special occasion at all.

But Single's Awareness Day sounds like a lot of fun - and who cares if it is a busy night to go out? My friends and I went to Disneyland on Christmas about busy! But we braved the crowds and we still had a blast. I say, go out and have fun! Don't let someone else talk you out of it!
