I made a pilgrimage to this exhibit when it opened at the Smithsonian. What strikes you is how low everything is, counters, chairs, table are all designed for someone much shorter than Julia. She must have had a perennial backache.
Julia had the counters in her kitchen raised because she was so tall. In the exhibit they must have lowered them. I've seen pictures of her kitchen in Massachusetts -- the counters look very high -- I am a short person and am aware of things like that.
