Looking for new ideas for fun dinner in SF

Need some new ideas. Don't want to go back to the usual suspects ( Suni, Slanted Door, Delphini).
Looking for great food ( not too stuffy) and FUN!. Need to avoid sushi and Indian. We will be 6-8 people. Any suggestions??

I thought Manga Rosa in North Beach was a lot of fun. Parking was a pain though and I'd recommend reservations. It's not a big place. If they still have it, I'd recommend getting the Prawns in a Pumpkin.

go anywhere...but instead of usual fare order the entire appitizer section and keep the bartender busy, when nearly full order the entire dessert menu and expresso.

Bong Su- Good food and sleek, chic, fun interior, great for a group your size.
Poleng Lounge- I had a recent get togther with 8 of us, we had a great time, the food is good and the space is funky and casual.

Farmer Brown- I was there when they fist opened and we had the front dining room and had a blast. I recently saw a bad report here so don't no the deal.

NOPA- very fun and good food

Tartine's bakery--tight for 6-8 but go late for breakfast and you might be okay.
          Second on mamacita's--but loud.
Primavera's on Saturday morning at the ferry building (outside in the back)....if it's a nice day, little is better.

Tartine? Whew, I saw you were a first time poster so I revised this. Welcome to the boards. While Tartine has some good food and I understand the enthusiasm, for a group of 6-8 it might be impossible to get a seat. To me it would seem more of a hassle than fun.

We haven't heard a lot lately about Mamacita's. What's good there? I've been meaning to drop by. I've bookmarked old reports, but it would be good to hear an update.

My own suggestion would be Coco500
