Philly lunch on Sunday
We are visiting our daughter in Philadelphia on Sunday and want to have a relaxing, not too expensive lunch somewhere in the city. We like ethnic food and are looking for a casual place with good food (sandwiches, salads, and even some yummy main dishes) in the $10-15 range per person. I've looked on this board for some suggestions and thought that Sawan's Mediterranean Bistro, Sahara Grill, or Marathon Grill might be options. Not real picky where the restaurant is in the city. My daughter lives in Manayunk but she is not very enthusiastic about restaurants in that part of town. I know this is a pretty open-ended question but does anyone have any good suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I'd recommend Alyan's - Middle Eastern - on 4th St. just south of South St., or South St. Souvlaki - Greek - between 5th and 6th on (surprise!) South St.

We ended up having brunch at Honey's Sit 'N Eat and we all absolutely loved it. We did have to wait a very long time (over an hour) but I think we got there at the worst time possible. When we finally did sit down, we all ordered 3-egg omelets with different things in them (tomato, bacon, sausage, pepper, cheese) and potato latkes and biscuits on the side. So yummy! I want to thank everyone for their suggestions and say how happy we were with Honey's!

Sawan's is no longer called Sawan's - it's Byblos Meditteranean Bistro. It's pretty good.
Marathon has your basic lunch food. LeBus is much better.
There's lots of good options but check to see if they are open on Sunday:Mama's Vegetarian Restaurant for falafels
Honey's Sit and Eat - for brunch/ lunch jewish southern cooking (Northern Liberties - more parking)
Azure - also northern liberties, carribean cuisine -
I like the breads at Le Bus, but not a fan of the food as much, think I could do the same at home. Same goes for Marathon Grill, nothing worth a trip for. If you enjoy Mexican food, go to Johnny Mananas in East Falls- near Manayunk. They have a great unique salad if you enjoy avacado.

I love Le Bus in Manayunk for lunch salads and sandwiches. I really miss their West Philly location and can't wait till they open the expanded one on 18th. I couldn't count how many of their fabulous pasta vegetable salads I've had. Try a slice of their cornbread (which seems expensive but is very thick and hearty). Thank you.
