Good Eats between Philly and Berwick (near Allentown area?)

G Goo Feb 9, 2007 07:16 AM

I have friends that have recently moved upstate and I'm looking for a good place to meet them halfway. Halfway is probably in the Allentown area, or maybe a little north of Allentown. Good food is a must. Price/style not much of an issue. Any suggestions?

I see that the original post is a couple months old, but what about Savory Grille in Macungie, PA? It's a little south of Allentown and one of my favorite restaurants in the area.

The Savory Grille is definitely worth the trip. There is also Melt Grill at The Promendade Shops at Saucon Valley. They also own Bleu with is a steak house in Bethlehem.

Try The Edge Restaurant in Bethlehem. Very close to Allentown. I went there for a catered dinner party and the food was excellent and facilities were immaculate. Great service, a little pricey but what a treat! Try the starters :o)

Apollo in Bethlehem. Farmhouse in Emmaus. The Farmhouse owner/chef just won the best chef competition they had for PA and the beer selection is quite large. Apollo is known for their appetizers and they have a big list of them. Both have websites.
