Thai Lunch Buffet in So-mid NH?

gryphonskeeper Feb 8, 2007 05:20 PM

My son has never experienced the wonderment of Thai food, but is very reluctant to try, are there any restaurants serving a lunch buffet in southern/mid New Hampshire (As close to Manchester as possible please) so he can experiment without worry? I only know of 2 thai places and neither serve a buffet where he can "sample and pick without waste and commitment".
Thank you in advance.

I don't think Thai food lends itself to a buffet-style presentation since it is all freshly prepared (in the best of all possible worlds, to paraphrase). But I think your son would enjoy the relatively non-threatening sweet/sour/salty flavors of pad thai as an introduction. Baw Bia Tod (thai spring rolls) are also pretty accessible to western palates. I've been pretty disappointed with the Thai restaurants in southern NH--but I think Thon Khao in Nashua is not bad. Avoid Chiangmai Restaurant in Amherst--possibly the world's worst Thai restaurant!
