since showercapcrazy just asked if this place is open - i'm curious:

is it good?

i've been wanting to try it (i always see it when i'm out in the 'burbs and wonder - is that a really yummy hamburger i'm missing?). so - is it great? do they have any specialties?

I'm no huge fan. It's a good-enough burger, but the "hickory sauce" is too full of something (liquid smoke, maybe?). I always end up eating a hot dog with cheddar, so what does that say about BB as a hamburger joint? Or maybe it says more about me.

Many years ago, I felt that the City Park location was the best, with the one, just off of Tulane Ave. a somewhat distant second. The Kenner branch was third and much closer to Tulane, than Tulane was to City Park. Now, I was always a fan of their Cheddar/BBQ burger, and even received crocks of their BBQ sauce from NOLA, when I moved to CO. Have not had time to try them on any of the trips down, over the last 10 years, but still fondly recall the burgers, especially those from City Park.

It is a very good burger, not Port of Call, but definately worth the stop if you are in the area.
