rub going downhill

Has anyone else been to rub since the start of the year? I have been going once a month or so since they opened, but the last three times I've been there, the quality of the barbque has gone down dramaticly. This has been my place in the city for bbq, but now I guess that I am going to cease eating smoked meats here the city. It's still bettr than DMeyer's joint, and dinosaur is out of my range.
Guess I'll just stick to the steakhouses

  1. My last two meals at RUB were terrible - everything was dried out like leather.

    1. I think it may be an issue of timing.

I went right around the new year (I think it was on Dec. 31st, actually), right when it opened, and everything was excellent (pulled pork, boneless bbq rib sandwich, duck, and a fourth thing which escapes me at the moment). Perhaps it's because everything was cooked just right when they opened, but later in the day, had been in (or out of) the smoker for too long? It was just my second visit, so I don't have much to compare it to, but it was better than anything else in NY I thought (although I am a Dinosaur fan).
