Any recco's for an early dinner near the Courthouse? Needs to be within walking distance, hard to imagine in this weather! Maybe ten people, including some kids. Thanks.

Sorry, I meant the Moakley Courthouse, near the ICA and Anthony's Pier 4.

There's a Daily Catch right there. Not quite as good as the North End location, but still pretty tasty.

With the caveat that I haven't been to this particular Daily Catch location within at least year (and based on walking by it frequently in the evening, neither have many other folks..) --

Two of the absolute worst dining experiences I've had in Boston were here (one was posted on the site a while ago and I can't relocate it thanks to the site redesigns in the meantime -- it was detailed about the owner who argued with us regarding why the puttanesca served to us was so awful -- apparently it was our ignorance and misinformation, not their cooking inability or bad ingredients...).

I'd choose the Barking Crab over Daily Catch any day (but it's touristy and overpriced for food -- great place for summer happy hour, however!! excellent bartenders!) -- but what I'd actually do is walk across the bridge to something in Rowes Wharf, Sel de la Terre, or even risk one of the new places in the Intercontinental in spite of mixed reviews on this board so far. It's not as far to walk to these from Fan Pier Courthouse as to Aura in the Seaport Hotel or Legal Test Kitchen (I like them both, but love neither). There may also be somewhere to eat in the new Westin, but again, not a close walk nor pedestrian-friendly at this point.

The No Name isnt too far...if you've got kids w/you, that might be a good option.

I'd suggest Aura - I eat there occasionally for lunch and it's always very good. Excellent seafood, attentive service and I've seen kids in there occasionally - they seem to cater to them. It's not too far from the Courthouse either.

Anthony's is right there. They take some heat on this board, but I say it's a unique and potentially great experience. Expensive.
