368519 Wed Feb 07 07:49:57 -0800 2007 3 19 Outer Boroughs 0 2267876 I drove by the Cheesesteak Factory in Sunnyside (Queens Blvd & approx 40th St) the other day and noticed their huge, glowing, obnoxious awning that says "Cheesesteak Factory" was not up. It was in the morning so I couldn't tell whether it was closed for good or if they are just renovating. I saw a Cheesesteak Factory opened up on Bell Blvd in Bayside and I remember seeing one in the city also, which made me believe it's not closed in Sunnyside... but was just checking. The cheesesteak is nothing to write home about, but sometimes if I want a quick fix I will go in there. But no one orders the cheesesteaks - all pizza orders. There's a sign up but nothing happening. Not sure what's happening to the company. Too ambitious maybe? Their cheesesteak is okay, but Uncle Spud's was better.
