Hey Chowhounders, looking for a place to go for martini's after work in the downtown area, any suggestions on good places that open around 4 or 5ish? Does anyone have happy hour anymore?

A bit away from the financial district, but Shmooze has happy hour every Friday night, can't remember what the prices were, but very, very cheap until about 9 or 10. Lots of selection.

I second the Bymark yummy martini's....
Doku 15 i loved the martini's & the beef sushi & everything else.
Canyon Creek actually does good martini's as well.

Wow thanks for all the suggestions, I checked out the Pravda site and looks cool, 5.90 for martinis is awesome! I tried to get Canoe for Winterlcious, never thought of it for martinis, do any of these places have a great selection? I kind of like Byzantium at Church and Wellesley they have a great selection.

You will not find anyone better than the bar staff at Canoe for making martinis.

I love Pravda for a quiet chat, Bymark when we're feeling saucy, Doku 15 when we're feeling stylish, Canoe's great for the view but a bit to much scene for me.

Since you didn't mention 'reasonable' as a requirement, how about Canoe? Great bar, great martinis, great view.

Did afterwork drinks at Canoe last night. I forgot how great the view is and good wines by the class ($12 - $20), yummy cashews and excellent service.

You might want to try Pravda on north side of Wellington just west of Church. I'm not sure they formally do happy hour but they are opened at that time, serve good and reasonably priced martini's and gave us some free stuff to nibble on last time I was there.

I second Pravda for martinis. They had happy hour the last couple times I've been there.
