The butterscotch pie is fine. But it's sweet, as a coffeshop pie tends to be. This ain't Jar or Mozza, so you'll find no refined and muted caramel tones. Just butterscotch sweetness...

you hit the nail on the head, wait too sweet but good, the trick is not to eat more than a few bites, and of course have it with a considerable amount of the whipped cream.

Last month there was a thread on Banana Cream pies at PNB. New York Times magazine voted PNB as best...firestorm shortly ensued amongst ChowHounders. Don't know how to add the thread. Give that one a shot.

Peanut butter is my favorite. And last time I was there I saw Danny Devito partaking of the PNB pie with a tall milkshake. So, heck, if it's good enough for Devito ...

Also, when it's in season, the Ollalieberry Pie is not to be missed. June-July.

Maybe frozen ollalieberry? Dunno, maybe the June-July is when they are actually harvested?

I know that plain old blackberries are in season through October.

We had the banana off the back off the NYT article voting it the best but have to say I wasn't floored. The great wait staff and an amazing Cobb Salad made up for it weirdly enough.. The fries that came with the kids plates were fantastic also.
Also, lots of people were eating things that were not on the menu, i.e. pancakes at 2PM etc. I think there is a secret handshake or something to get the "insider" menu.

Pie N Burger has such a casual vibe that if you're friendly, I'm sure they'll accomodate you.

I mean, as long you're not asking for a single plum floating in perfume served in a man's hat.

This time of year? Banana or coconut. Summer time--the peach, good Lord! The peach!!
Also, the strawberry, and the ollieberry!!
I dislike, truly, their cherry pie. Canned fruit is gross.
