Coveleigh Club in Rye, NY -- anybody had event there?

PlasticMoonRain Feb 4, 2007 07:13 PM

I went to see the Coveleigh Club in Rye, NY.

Has anybody ever been to an event there and held an event there -- maybe even a bar or bat mitzvah -- and can tell me what your experience has been?

Thank you.

I help run a fundraising dinner for The Pet Adoption League at the Coveleigh Club. This is the 3rd year we will be there. Food is excellent, more than enough food on the buffet to go around. Service is very good and the Club itself makes an excellent impression. The manager works with you and is easy to deal with. April 16 is the night of the event this year.

Can non-members have events at the Coveleigh Club? I came across it looking for a wedding venue.

Call them, I believe you can. It would depend on the date.

Yes - I was married there in 2002. Food was excellent and wedding itself was elegant. Service was outstanding and everyone commented on that. Not sure if manager is still there. As with most events, my advice is to tip VERY well to ensure great service.

I haven't been but a friend recently booked Coveleigh for a bat mitzvah in 2009. I'd forwarded her a positive recommendation from another friend who'd been to an event there and thought it definitely worthy. Before deciding on it, friend #1 had heard very good things about Coveleigh from other sources as well.

I'd love to see that recommendation.

Sorry PlasticMoonRain. It wasn't a review. It was a recommendation from a second friend that lives in Rye and is Jewish and has been to many affairs in Westchester. The friend in Rye had been to an affair at Coveleigh and as they are very discerning, I trusted her judgement and passed on her positive recommendation to friend #1 who lives in Larchmont.

I've been to a few events there. It's a beautiful place--especially in good weather, and the food, while not gourmet-superb, is better than at many similar venues. Service was efficient and professional. I would think Coveleigh would be a nice place for a bar or bat mitzvah.
