  1. It's not Englewood but there is a good vietnamese restaurant in Jersey City on Newwark ave and next door is a vietnamese grocery where they have sandwiches are the weekend. Pre-made so they are good but not amazing.

I didn't know Nha Trang did bahn mi. Any veg options?

Sorry if I was unclear. I don't think Nha Trang doesn bahn mi, the grocery next door has pre-wrapped (but not packaged) banh mi on the weekends.

Good enough for me. I'll give it a look.

    1. there is shopping center in belleville-named east west
there is market and vietnamese restaurant-not difficult to get to from englewood

there is also vietnamese restaurant in ft. lee-

      1. sorry to say, n. bergen co. is not the place for viet food. there are a few good thai and japanese places but not vietnamese. saigan is in your town and it is the best in the area abd it is nothing special. no place for a bahn mi that i know of. there is an asian supermarket in river edge on kinderkamack rd. that is mostly chinese but it does have some vietnamese food. its large and pretty close and worth a visit.

        1. There's 2 places, both have the same owner. Both have great pho.

          Mo‘ Pho‘
212 Main St, Fort Lee, NJ

          Saigon R.
58 W Palisade Ave, Englewood, NJ

I've been to Mo' Pho' in Fort Lee and wasn't overly impressed. Overall, I think that Nha Trang in Jersey City crushes Mo' Pho'.

            1. re: republix

I was at Saigon R, in englewwod ( on the left side of the street, a few blocks from the statue). It's VERY small but the food is good. Even tho the place in Ftt Lee has the same owner, the food is different. I liked Englewood better.

            2. I suggested this in an earlier post but the Vietnam restaurant in Spring valley, NY is one of the best vietnamese places i've been to in the "not nyc" area: here's the address:304 N. Main St Spring Valley 845-425-7446

Also: there's a place in pallisades park, and though i have yet to try it, my students tell my the pho is good

              1. If you are willing to go a little south, there's Kam Man in East Hanover that is a huge Asian supermarket. For Vietnamese food, I would go to Saigon House on Rt. 10E in East Hanover (a few minutes from Kam Man). They have excellent Vietnamese food and I was there recently and the manager said they are introducing Banh Mi soon. I think his family makes all the pates and meats for it.
