I will be arriving in New Orleans sometime between 9:30 and 10 PM on a thursday evening.
Can you recommend a restaurant to start my short vacation off right? Don't want to go to a high end place to first night so late but would like to sample some good food and don't want to feel rushed that they are waiting to close up. We like to eat everything and transportation no problem.

We liked Delachaise on St. Charles Avenue. It's a wine bar, but we've always found the food to be delish - really, you can't go wrong with fries fried in duck fat, can you? The menu is on the home page: http://www.thedelachaise.com/

I like Delachaise, too. Coop's place is open pretty late, I think. Mimi's in the Marigny (kitchen open til 4 am) has good tapas. Port o' Call has great burgers.

La Boca stay open till midnight, but not every night, so it requires a phone call.
