TheMiZzLe Feb 3, 2007 01:59 PM

Has anyone been to Murphy's on Kear St.? Its off off 118 in Yorktown HTS. Its been open about a year now. Im kinda afraid to try it because Im used to good bar/pub style food from White Plains and The Bronx. Being its so close though I have been wanting to try it Does Anyone have any input?

Try Brodie's on route 6 in Mohegan Lake. It is a great Irish pub their Shepard's pie is great. and they know how to pour a Guiness.

Finnegans Grill is MUCH better.....Murphys' is inconsistent, sometimes good and last time they were out of Guiness and 1/2 our parties food was served too cold. Brodies has great burgers, but the odor in the place is off putting. Its almost like they never got the scent of cigarettes out of the place.

In yorktown try Finnegans Grill in the Kmart plaza. But if you want the best pub/bar food try Kelly's on Rt22 in Brewster!! They are a lil pricey but the food it worth it. If you go on a Saturday or Friday night you'll probably have to wait about 15min or a set but it is well worth it!!

Murphy's is awesome. Nice atmosphere, great food, wonderful service, nice crowd. Definately check it out. It took me a while to get around to it & now I'm a regular.

This place angers me. On the one hand, they have nice atmospheric Irish pub privacy booths. One would think they know their Irish fare. But their Guiness was poorly drawn. And their bangers and mash were flavored with Italian spices and garlic. Murphy's could be so much better.

Don't think it is very good.
Went there for drinks and bar food about 6 months ago - not impressed.
I'd put it on par with Applebee kind of places...
