When I entered a search on "Orlando" I got one page of just information about Florida but the additional pages included information on LA and NYC. So how do I narrow a search since typing Orlando gives me information about all places in the state and several other places in the USA ? And how/where can I start a new thread? I just can't find it! Thanks for your help!!! I feel like such a dolt!

  1. Hi, sunsuze,

There are a couple of things you can do.

First, you can start at the Florida board. If you click the arrow next to the word 'boards' in the navigation bar, you can choose Florida from the list. Or just go here: http://www.chowhound.com/boards/10 That'll take you to threads about Florida that you can browse, with the added bonus that if you search from there, you should be searching only posts on that board.

If you'd rather start your search from the front of the site, you can enter Orlando in the search bar. Once you get results, choose 'Topics' from the list of options, then 'Filter by board' to choose only the Florida board. That'll narrow your search down to only posts on the Florida board, as well.

To start a new thread, go to the main page on any board - like the Florida board I linked to earlier - and choose 'Add New Topic'
