So, we are in need of a first afternoon meal upon arrival from airport, and we are staying at 37th and Lex. Which of these two would you select for a burger?

Michael Jordan's by far. Worth the five block walk. I dont think Rare is very good.

I've had burgers at Rare on several occasions. I've never had an MJ burger, so I can't compare, but I've never really been all that thrilled with the Rare burger. Its all right, but nothing more than that, imo.

Of those two choices, Michael Jordans. I would personally recommend you consider a short cab ride to Mollys on 3rd Avenue between 21st and 22nd street. It is worth the trip.

The burger/food at MJ's is better but a lot more expensive. Nothing wrong (or great) with Rare.

While Molly's is my favorite spot for a burger (btw, it's between 22nd & 23rd Sts.), if you want to be closer to your hotel, another option is the Waterfront Ale House, on 2nd Av. & 30th St. While I've not been, Hounds who have say the burgers there are excellent.
