Easy hearty off 280 hwy on the way south

Might be a strange request, but I am looking for a place to grab a quick bite on the way down to Big Sur tonight.

Thanks!

  1. Hmmm, hwy 280 is strange no-mans zone.
There is Buck's in Woodside, or maybe the Elephant Bar in Serramonte.

    1. Try the Alpine Inn aka Rosotti's aka Zot's. Take the Alpine Road exit from 280.

It's a Stanford hangout, dive with burgers, sandwiches, and character.

      1. Too late to help you tonight, but Ramen Halu is 3 blocks east of 280 and Hana is about the same distance to the west.

actually we did not go, due to I have the flu. But these will help in the near future. Thanks

Halu and Hana are in San Jose about an hour's drive away from the City. Though thinking about it now, for the drive south on a Friday night, you'd be better off taking 280 then cutting over to 85 because it has a carpool lane for you two and a flyover to the carpool lane at the merge with 101. So, you might want to ask for eats along 85.

            Feel better soon!

          2. Woodside Bakery & Cafe (in Woodside, just a couple of minutes off 280). It's my "standard" stop on 280 and a very popular place for good reason, whether for pastry only or a sit-down meal.

Darn...I was just in Woodside today for a trail run. I definitely wouldn't have minded picking up something tasty to re-energize myself afterward - maybe next time.

            2. Falafel Drive-In
              2301 Stevens Creek Blvd
              San Jose, CA 95128
              (near 280/880 intersect)
              Quick and tasty!
