Who has two stoves in there kitchen?

I purchased a very nice KA electric stove less than a year ago and now I am dying for a gas stove so my husband suggest running a gas line and purchasing a gas top. Does this sound tacky to have both.

If you have the space and the budget, go for it. In my recently renovated kitchen, I have a 48-inch dual-fuel range (6 gas burners, gas grill, a large and a small electric oven), as well as a large wall oven.

I switched from electric to gas about 7 years ago, and would never go back to electric.

When it comes to kitchen appliances, if you know you're going to use them, do what makes you happy. For the hours and hours that those of us who cook spend in the kitchen, it's great if we can have the appliances and equipment that give us pleasure to use.

Sounds great. I have an extra HIGH output single burner (used sparingly because it kicks the Earth out of orbit) and three big sinks!

I have both a gas and an electric range, so it doesn't sound at all tacky to me. It's amazingly handy to have both types of heat, plus two full-sized ovens are great.
