My boyfriend and I are going to the Philharmonic tomorrow (Sat) at 8pm. We would like to have dinner in the area - although, we would definately stray farther away than walking distance. What can you guys recommend for a no-reservations, moderately-priced (i'm thinking entrees in the $20 range) meal?

  1. I had a very good meal at Arte Cafe on 73rd St. a couple of months ago. We didn't had a reservation either. I don't remember what I had but I remember be pleasantly surprised, since I had never heard about the place before.
You can check their webpage: http://www.artecafenyc.com/

    1. Compass has a $35 prixe fixe menu in the dining room-you may be able to get in early without a reservation...or you could eat in the bar area--it's pretty big, with tables, etc.
Some of the better food you'll get in the area at that price range.

I've found Bouchon Bakery in the Time-Warner mall (3rd floor) to be pretty good, if you don't mind eating in the middle of the mall.

      1. How about Fiorello's?
