Where Can I Buy Kinnie?

Does anyone out there know if there's any place around the West End of the city that sells the Maltese soft drink Kinnie? My Dad's birthday is coming up & I'd like to buy him some. I live in Mississauga, so I really don't want to travel too far.

Just to let you know Joe's Pastizzi Plus is still around at 5070 Dundas St. W. between Islington and Kipling on Dundas. If in doubt call 416-233-9063---as a smart shopper one does their own investigating before believing anything written on internet.
You just can't believe everything that is written. Kinnie has been around in Toronto since Aug of 2007, so at the time you wrote your blog none of the Maltese Bakeries had Kinnie.

It's definitely an acquired taste. I can't stand the stuff myself, but my Dad likes it. He used to buy it at a restaurant called Joe's Pastizzi Plus, but I don't think they're around anymore. Thanks for your responses.

Joe's is definatly still around, the original owner has retired but the new owner still makes them the same.

My GF is Maltese, she described it as the most putrid soft drink ever (and I have seen her drink Brio). That said, I really want to try it. If anyone finds it let me know, I don't recall seeing it in any of the pastizzi shops.

She's right. It tastes nothing like Brio. Definitely an acquired taste.

Hey guys, Kinnie as far as I know has not been available in Canada for a few years now. Malta Bake Shop used to carry it but no more. The closer taste that I find, though a tad more bitter is San Pellegrino Chinotto. I prefer the Kinnie (used to drink it profusely in Malta) as it is sweeter.

There is a Maltese community on Dundas West. I've been to a lovely little Maltese bakery, called Malta Bake Shop & Cafe, 3256 Dundas Street West. 416-769-2174. You might try there.

In googling the address for the bakery, I came across a listing for the Maltese community of Toronto. Here it is.
