Greek restaurants???
I'm looking for a good Greek restaurant in montreal. Price is not an issue.....however, there will be a 5y/o with our group. Any good suggestions???.....we are looking for something better than a "fast-food" greek restaurant.....
Thanks in advance
Marc

Milos (higher end) their specialty is fish. Located on Park Ave. If price is not an issue this is the place to go, I'm not sure how the 5 yr old though. http://www.milos.ca

All the bigshots dine here, from the Formula 1 racing teams in the summer to Hollywood stars.
Panama on Jean Talon: Roast lamb on the spit on weekends, great lamb chops, fresh fish, great octupus. More reasonably priced.
There are other great "psarotavernas" (translates to, fish taverns) along Park ave, where the fish is just as fresh and more affordable. i.e. Psarotaverna Symposium, Psarortavern Faros on Fairmount and Parc.
Stay away from, 'bring your own wine' Greek restaurants.
All the above show up with the fresh fish on ice in a basket to your table and you get to choose the fish you want grilled. I hope fish is to your liking.
Let me know how it turns out or if you need any other info.

I'll vouch for Panama based on recent experience, though I thought the lamb chops were the least impressive part of the experience. We weren't there on a night when the roast lamb was available. The grilled octopus was a major crowd-pleaser.
Overall, a great place for a group, especially with the family-style service.

The two best Greek restaurant in montreal are Jardin de Panos on duluth street and La porte Grec on Boulevard des Sources in the West Island. They are amazing but really hard to get in. Jardin de Panos doesn't take reservation and la porte grec you have to reserve a month in advance. You better go during the week. Both are really casual but incredibe tasty food. Milos is amazing as well , it is the kind of trendy high end restaurant for a saturday's night out. Mythos is good as well and they have a greek band playing on the week end. Which is more traditional.

We haven't tried Jardin de Panos or La porte grec, but we have tried Mythos and enjoyed it very much, both the food and the ambiance. It seems to be particularly suited for groups.

Mythos is much better and authentic than either Jardin de Panos or La Porte Grecque. (more expensive though). Jardin and Porte are near-fast-food (you can also call them casual or family) though some of the best in their style.
BTW does Mythos still serve their FIXE greek beer? If they still do, order it! It's fantastic and I have not seen it anywhere else.
