My husband and I go out to dinner very, very, seldom. I am looking for an outstanding restaurant in the Walnut Creek, Danville, San Ramon area that will make me glad I didn't cook at home that night -- I mean a restaurant that will knock our socks off, money no object. Any suggestions?

Here's a recent topic on a somewhat similar question:

My new favorite in the area is Postino in Lafayette. My wife and I went there recently, and found the food, service and atmosphere top notch. We started with the Prince edward island mussels with linquica and fennel confit served with frites and a pasta dish with duck and porcini bolognese and reggiano cheese. From there we ordered entree specials they had that evening. I believe corkage was $20, which was waived when I ordered a bottle of wine in addition to what we had brought. I thought it was significantly better than Prima.

If you like Asian Pacific Rim, Patrick Davids in Danville is very good.

Just a suggestion: You might get more responses if you edit your title to say "in San Ramon Valley / Walnut Creek"
