  1. Yahaira's Cafe right across the street on the south side of Colorado. I don't know if it falls into your category of cheap though.

          1. i actually did end up going to coco's, since i was craving something eggy and american. the eggs -- which i ordered over-medium -- were a little TOO runny, i thought. they could have used another 30 seconds on the grill. i loved the potatoes, though. did that place used to be a denny's?

Denny's - maybe 15 years ago? Sorry about the runny eggs. I always have a great breakfast there. They even step up to the plate in the fall with awesome Pumpkin panacakes w/pecan syrup....YUM! If you're in that corner again, after 11:30A, you might try Sitar- Not the best Indian buffet, but, it was ok for a quick lunch. (I haven't been in a while). :) KQ

Sitar went downhill there for a while, but recently has gotten a lot better. We go there at least once a month for their very inexpensive lunch buffet.

Thanks Wildswede- I'll have to give Sitar another try.

It used to be Bob's Big Boy!

              3. Europane - Colorado just east of Lake - south side of street. The most unbelievable pastries (I think they have eggs as well for breakfast.) Check it out. I hear Sumi the owner was a Spago alum years ago.

I thought Sumi was an alum of La Brea Bakery ... ?

                2. Or you can try Cafe Verde on Green Street. Good breakfasts, great pancakes, but small portions and not cheap cheap. I know you specified cheap though.

                  1. Lovebirds, if it's still there.

                    1. Yes, we love Lovebirds! Definitely walking distance from Vromans. I don't think they have full-blown breakfasts, but they have all kinds of pastries, muffins, etc. It has a good unpretentious vibe there, interesting mix of people. Our favorite items are: Love That Basil sandwich on their baguette (very healthy), papaya smoothies, their air fries (oven-baked), and their chicken gumbo soup.

                      1. I tried Z cafe on Union east of Lake when they first opened. Really good stuff for cheap food
