NEED RECS FOR DINNER **TONIGHT** in Westwood Area

I have only been to Westwood on a handful of occasions and in my limited experience I have only had the displeasure of joining my friends to eat at local UCLA fratboy standbys and chain restaurants. I am joining some friends for dinner tonight at a place of my choosing, and I would prefer to experience something unique (enough for me to at least respect myself after), and though I hope not to drop no more than $15 - $20 (though less would be fine too) I am hoping for a fun and delicious experience. I am always in the mood for japanese, korean, or mexican, though I welcome all suggestions as I am easily swayed by good food. Please help!!!

Maybe 6 posts below your request is this very similar thread:

It never hurts to scroll down the page a bit to see if you can find something that looks promising before posting.

My friend swears by this Indonesian restaurant. I've never been but have been meaning to check it out.

This might be your lucky day then, as today is the last day for 20% off everything at ACLU Sushi. It's been open a month and a 1/2. I was there yesterday and it wasn't quite as good as the time before. See the linked review with a sample $20 total (out-the-door) dinner:

I like Noodle Planet on Westwood Blvd. but it is VERY casual. Sort of Asian greatest hits. Be sure to save room to hit Stan's donuts a few blocks away. Their peanut butter pockets are crazy. Of course there's also Diddy Riese for cheap, freshly made cookies.

It is more of a family style place, so good if you are with a few people, but this Persian restaurant is terrific!

Since most of the entrees will serve two, you can eat pretty affordably if you share.

How 'bout Damon and Pythias, on Broxton? Also, by car you are not more than 5 minutes away from all that is good, delicious, and japanese along the Sawtelle corridor, where you'll have a dozen choices to eat well...
