At the airport?

Any suggestions for a chow meal at Pearson? Hour layover.

  1. I've never had any good chow "inside" the airport. I haven't been there in years, but I used to work at Terminal 3 and to the left side of the terminal outside where all the taxis sit, there was a greasy spoon stand that had good falafels, fries, etc. Ask one of the taxi drivers out front if it's still there if you are at Terminal 3. If you are at Terminal 1, I don't have any suggestions, sorry.

    1. Perhaps you will be in the brand new terminal that opened just days ago! Could be good...

      1. Go have a drink at T3 Sheraton -- it's the best option ;)

oh, I forgot about the Sheraton - they used to have really good nachos there too

Yes -- I had those once with a Cosmo, waiting for my Mom's flight to come in.... Not bad at all :) Not cheap, but at least it's a reasonable environment to sit in too...

yes, much classier than the taxi stand, but those fries....

did your nachos have the baby shrimp on them? I'm going back 11/12 years (ouch)

Nope... No shrimp... this was last year for me!

        2. I am heading to Terminal One tomorrow night as well and was hoping for a good meal there somehow.. pre-security. Any suggestions would be great... i hear there is a Wolfgang Puck Express there? Hoping for more than just a sandwich...

Yes, there is a Wolfgang Puck Express there. Overpriced, but not bad at all for airport food. The one at O'hare airport in Chicago has saved my sanity and stomach during many a delayed flight. I quite like the chinese chicken salad -- sort of a asian coleslaw with grilled chicken. The tortilla soup is tasty -- it's really more of a tomato and corn chowder. The meatloaf sandwich on foccacia is hearty and filling, though the meatloaf is better on some days then others. Make sure you get plenty of peppers and onions with it. And the pizzas aren't bad at all.

Good lord... I spend too much time in airports.
