Carmel/Monterey

I posted a couple of days about Passionfish in Pacific Grove for a birthday dinner for my mother, with my parents. I have a list of other restaurants in the area. Price is not an issue. Which of the following would you choose?

L'Auberge Carmel
Bernardus
Roberts White House
Bouchee
Casanova

IMO, the answer depends upon what you are looking for: are you interested primarily in the food, or the view, and how much formality do you want. Are you aware that there has been a recent chef change at Bouchee (and I believe at L'Auberge as well)? Does that matter to you? (I haven't seen any posts from diners who have eaten there since the change the beginning of January).

I would never pick Pacific's Edge. The only good thing about Pac Edge is the view. The food at Bernardus and L'Auberge is much superior that Pac Edge. I would choose either of those two. TRUST ME!!

Pacific's Edge in Carmel Highlands would be my top choice, if price is not an issue.

I agree! Pacific's Edge is fabulous. The food, service and wine list are all excellent and the view is unparalled. Be prepared for a hefty bill but it's worth it for a special occasion.
