Waiting for the answer to this. Have not had a good version in NYC since the previous incarnation of the Brasserie on 53rd. And I've been trying.

My favorite is found at Blue Ribbon Brooklyn. It has such a rich flavor and is loaded with cheese.

I've also ordered it at Blue Ribbon Bakery but it was completely off. Everything seemed off that day but that's another matter. The soup was so obviously left under the heat too long. The bread and cheese were both hard as a rock. I ended up trying to cut it with a knife.

They just had a DOH problem. I don't know that I'd be rushing back there so soon.
