Vert used to serve a pretty good one but, alas, it's no longer on their menu. Any suggestions for other options appreciated.
Vermont has a wonderful one...they call it "Michael's favorite" but he uses Canadian bacon, 2 poached eggs, sherry vinaigrette, it's delicious
I vouch for Pastis too!
Village Idiot has a good frisee lardon but it's a small portion
Pastis on Beverly just west of Crescent Hts. has it on their menu.www.LAPastis.com for more info.Very good food in a modern Paris bistro setting.
Agreed. Pastis has the best we've had locally in a long time.
Mimosa has a good one.
I agree! Mimosa has the best one in the city.
absolutely mimosa. and a great poached leeks with lentils. and then a floating island for dessert!
Last time that I was there, in November, they were having a special regional meal to complement the Beaujolais Nouveau and they had this fantastic dish of poached eggs in red wine. Divoon!
I do miss the Salad Frisee at Vert. You may see Frisee salads disappearing momentarily as that green is not doing well in the frosty conditions up north (not properly blanching), so supplies are tight.
Wine Bistro has a pretty good Salad Frisee aux Lardons - with ample lardons. One caveat, to my taste, they overdress it.
Lily's on Abbott Kinney. Delicious, with a nice soft poached egg over the top.
