Jackson Hts/ Guacamole Dip

Does anyone know where I can get fresh made Guacamole Dip take out in Jackson Heights or nearby. I recently purchased Marie's at Trade Fair in the produce section and it was awful. I could probably look up a receipe and make it but I'm looking for the easy way out. Thanks.

Go over to De Mole in Sunnyside at 48th ave and 45 th street...I think they make the ABSOLUTE BEST guacomole--and I'm sure they'd do an extra large portion for takeout, as they are super nice there...

Janie, thanks for the recommendation. It's just a few subway stops and I have read rave reviews about De Mole on this Board. It's time I went for lunch and brought back some guacomole. It's highly unlikely I could make it as good. I'm having some friends over next week for drinks and snacks and who doesn't like fresh made guacomole.

If you go for lumch try their grilled chicken quesadilla , it's excellent, burritos are great as well...and their de mole salad with grilled shrimp is a super deal and huge portion at $6. Ask for some tomatillo sauce for the quesadilla, and they will also give you a hot sauce red, and a hot green avocado sauce, both excellent...also, do not forget to get their Mexican Hot chocolate (no milk),..lots of cinnamon..and their coconut flan...we eat there once a week----

Janie, many thanks for all your recommendation. I'm going for lunch early next week. Based on what I've heard about the food, I could also be a once a week regular. Hot Chocolate on a cold day sounds good.

The produce store on the corner of 78th and 37th Ave. sells only ripe Haas avocados. Mix with salsa and lime and you are good to go. (I recommend the spicy green Mrs. Renfro's salsa, but you gotta go to Gourmet Garage in Soho for that.)

        Dude, make it.

I'm sure there are plenty of JH Mexican restaurants that have it but MAKE IT.

Gotta be one of the top 5 food items that is never as good in a restaurant or store as it is if you make it yourself.

yes, it's a pain to find good avocados this time of year. But if you can, the rest of it's awfully easy. dice up a bit of red onion. plenty of fresh cilantro chopped up. seed some tomato and roughly chop (and the tomatoes don't need to be spectacular for guac). cut up some limes. mash avocados, onion, and cilantro to desired consistency. fold in tomatoes and let loose with some good sea salt. spray with a lime or two and you're good to go. so much better than anything store bought...

You have to have a tomatillo in the quac!

Speaking of tomatillo, I haven't been to La Hacienda (in Woodside) in over a year, but when I went there they made some mean guacamole and pico de gallo. Really chunky. And they sold it for take out too.
