Superbowl Party Somewhere Downtown
Got some friends in town for the night and apparantly my tv isn't going to cut it for the game...looking for a place to go--preferably in the Noho/East Village area. I'm not a football fan (just an accomodating hostess), so maybe someplace that isn't specifically a sports bar. Drink specials/food deals would be nice too... Any suggestions?

Definitely try ACME on Great Jones Street. They're having half-off of appetizers all night, and a raffle and beer specials ($3, I think). Plus, it's a restaurant-slash-bar, so you can probably grab a table and have a full meal--if you like southern comfort/cajun food. I got dragged out to watch the Superbowl there last year, and I remember how it actually made the whole experience quite tolerable for me. Very friendly people--you don't need to be a sports fanatic to go.
