Thanks, everyone, for your excellent suggestions for lunch near 62 & Lex. As it turns out Burger Heaven and Equinox Cafe are favorites among my colleagues so I eat there a fair amount. DavidBurke in the Box (in Bloomie's) is the best lunch/takeout place in a 15 block radius and I am a frequent diner there, at the food cart on 62 & Mad, and at Brio takeout shop next door (prosciutto, mozz and olive oil on balthazar bread ... yum). Finally the Really Cool Foods provides a more DIY lunch experience but the free samples are delish.

BUT the more important thing is my new favorite favorite place: JOVIA.
OK this is more like a special occasion place -- I've never been for dinner but I'm sure it's beautiful -- gorgeous quiet atmosphere, incredibly attentive service, yummy high quality fresh food. I went for the first time about 3 weeks ago on a whim and have been back for every business lunch since (about 4 times). Had the RW prix fixe yesterday for the first time, because the usual lunch menu is interesting and extremely well priced, and I usually don't have dessert at lunch. (Usual order is the rock shrimp cobb salad which is amazing and $16.) Was glad I tried the prix fixe because the red hot cinnamon ice cream that came with the "Diavolo" bittersweet chocolate cake was transporting.
Just to give you a sense of the menu: appetizers were cotechino with lentils and pomegranate mustard (really, really good) and chicory, beet, walnut and goat cheese salad; mains black olive pappardelle with tomato confit and almond monkfish over risotto cake; the other dessert was a white chocolate passionfruit pudding (much better than I can describe it).
I can't say enough great things about this place. I love that it is quiet and delicious so I hesitated to recommend it (don't want to screw up a good thing) but I like it so much I want it to succeed so ... run don't walk.
