Local seafood in Wilmington, NC

Hello 'hounds, I; looking for a restaurant in Wilmington that specializes in fresh, local ingredients, esp, seafood. It's for a special; occasion, so price is no object.

You have to try 22 North. Every meal I have had there is amazing. It is on Wrightsville Beach at 22 North Lumina Ave. They only have a few things on the menu and then every night they have 10-12 "blackboard specials" that the chef has created for that night. They use lots of local ingredients including locally caught seafood. It's a nice atmosphere, but not too fancy, so might not be what you're looking for for this special occasion - but you've got to check it out. The prices are very reasonable also. This is probably my favorite restaurant in a town overflowing with amazing places to eat!

I think its across the street from King Neptune in "downtown" WB.

Good to know. I'd seen them working on the space downtown before it opened and wondered if it was going to be any good. Will have to give it a try for lunch soon.

For lunch, Catch downtown on Princess Street between Second and Third is great. I ate there last week and had the shrimp burger. It was fabulous and only $8.00. The chef also works at Deluxe so Catch is only opened from 10am-2pm on weekdays.

Deluxe downtown does an excellent job with local fish and buys a lot of their other produce and meat from local sources.
